I am successfully registered but get an error message on handset , "Address not in use". I am running latest version of Firmware, V3.0633.09.04. When I dial the speaking clock, 303, the screen then shows "303@sip.blueface.ie". after apprx 15 secs it displays "Address not in use". Any pointers as to where I am going wrong?
Thanks |

My guess is somehting has changed in the Nokia SIP stack that is incompatible with our servers. I'll attempt the upgrade on my Nokia E61 and see if I can see what the problem is.

Actually this might take a little bit longer as my Nokia E61 has gone on the blink.
Does anybody know if remote upgrades are pushed to these phones? My better half uses the Nokia E61 as her alarm clock and after setting it in her normal manner last night she was a bit miffed when it didn't go off this morning. I put it down to a flat battery or something but after looking at it now it's definitely not keen on starting up. Aaron

I tried using phone on Sipgate, all registered Ok. Deletd Blueface profile and Sipgate profile. Configured phone with Blueface settings. Its all working now, just called 2 landlines, sound quality is very good. Might help as I am on 8mb connection in UK at the moment. You need to use "00" as opposed to "+" in front of country code. Can receieve calls no problem.
Bought this phone months ago but never got round to updating firmware (NAT issues). I have been very impressed with the phone, can be used with TomTom navigation as well (maps are poor for Ireland, use Route66 V7 on S60 phones), and now can use it for VOIP calls. |

I got my E61 booted up albeit with what looks like a charging problem that looks like it might be fairly common.
I checked my firmware version and it is 2.0618.06.05. According to http://europe.nokia.com/A4176089 there isn't any update available. If anyone knows any differently I'd be interested to know. The version of firmware I am using does not really support NAT and does therefore not allow incoming calls, outgoing calls are still working correctly for me. Aaron

Aaron,
I have a vodafone-branded E61. The Nokia site software update NSU won't update it, apparently because my phone is a Vodafone Ireland Product Code phone and the firmware for that Product Code has not been updated yet. The phone came with Product Code 0531300 (this is Vodafone Ireland). See under the battery. I updated the firmware to V3.0633.09.04 by following the instructions in the link below: http://blog.hishamrana.com/2006/12/2...ded-nokia-e61/ The instructions involve first changing the Product Code to a different value(0530151) using the Nemesis program . The different value IS recognised by the Nokia site at firmware-updatable and the download takes place fine. All at your own risk of course... Also, I am still not able to get the E61 to register from behind a NAT router, I have now tried with V1, V2 and V3 of the firmware. If you are successful, I would be very grateful to know how you do it. Joe |

I followed the instructions posted by Aaron. It didnt work first time, it was late when i tried it. As in post above, I eventually got it to work, tried Sipgate account I have due to initial problems I was having.
My Nokia wouldn't update either, I used the Nemesis Sw to change the product code, worked a treat. Last edited by Guillaume; 02-02-09 at 01:13 PM. |

I have been running Nokia E61 with firmware version v3.0633.09.04 for the past week and it is rock solid with Blueface.
There are significant improvements in SIP performance. The most noticeable is call set-up time which is extremely fast. Registration is fast and solid. I'm now able to receive incoming calls and CID, call-waiting are all functioning. As noted in other posts when upgrading from v2 to v3 firmware it is essential to delete previous settings for Blueface and any other SIP providers. Once this is done generate new settings and it will work perfectly. The only way to get Vodafone handsets to upgrade from v2 to v3 is by changing the product code using the Nemesis software. This is a simple operation but not risk-free. Each product code provides a different bundle of apps and setting depending on the specification of each network operator. In the upgrade I've lost the application manger app. and can't restore it. I must now use PC Suite to load apps. The firmware is buggy and in certain conditions will crash. Overall however it is much better than v2. Hth |
