Default Constant Busy Signal using Netgear TA612V

Hi

I bought a netgear ta612v locked to sipgate and unlocked it on their website - firmware is now v1.2_73...

I was able to use the phone intially when i signed up with blueface but then it wouldnt register with the server and i get a busy signal every time i pick up the tone

This has been happening since I signed up- sometimes it will work but 90% of the time it has the busy signal when you try to make a call

I live in Wales and use NTL for broadband - i connect ntl modem to netgear ta612v and connect wifi netgear router from netgear ATA
I never have a problem using the internet btw

when i say this is driving me INSANE its an understatement

Can any please shed some light on the situation- i have screenshots of the ATA settings if it helps!!!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Hi gregc,

I did see your ticket in our support queue and have been watching out for traffic from your account this morning and so far I haven't seen a peep so it does look like there is something going awry at the network or DNS level somewhere between your netowrk and ours.

To rule out DNS can you change your server from sip.blueface.ie to 213.168.225.133 (Caution we are changing this address in January so when you receive the email notification remeber you will need to update this setting if it is still the IP address).

If the problem still persists after making that change we can try some more troubleshooting steps.

Hi Aaron

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!
I can't tell you how stressed I've been trying to work out why it wasn't working- I logged into the router remotely yesterday and changed the outbound proxy to the ip address you provided and its working since!

Thanks again!
Wish I'd posted here weeks ago now!

Hi Aaron

Do you have that new IP address for the sip proxy- Since Friday last, the reception on the phone has been awful- its clicking all the time and so you miss words in a conversation and is just unbearable!

Would it be bacause you changed the proxy at all(as you said you were in Jan) or something unrelated?

I've rebooted loads and it didn't help...

Regards
Maria

Hi Maria,

No the proxy address has not changed.

The problem you've got ia call quality one though and the proxy does not come into play once the call is set up.

You need to download and run the test below so we can see how you internet connection is behaving.
