Hio,
Looking for some help with a problem I have with the above router, just rying to set it up for my sister in law. All seems to work okay, internet is fine, i get dial tone and incomoming calls ring, however, I am getting no audio whatsoever on the phone via the phone port. The handset is fine, works on eircom line, also tired the xten softphone on pc connected to same router, and all is fine, audio etc in both directions, so not sure what the problem is. I also dont know how to get into the detailed setup for the voip site of the router to check everything is configured okay. As far as I know her ISP settings are dynamic, but internet etc is working okay, so dont think this is the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Eamon |

Hi Eamon,
Is the Netgear plugged directly into your broadband modem? If it's not and it's possible could you try plugging the WGR directly into the modem as the most common cause of one way audio is the RTP stream (protocol that carries the audio) not being able to get through your router. If you'e on a DSL connection it's normally not possible to plug the Netgear directly into the modem as in that case it's normally a combination DSL Modem/Router. If that's the case the msot likely solution will be to port forward UDP 10,000 to 20,000 from the DSL Modem/Router to the WGR's IP address. We can give you more assistance on this if needed. Regards, Aaron

Aaron,
Thanks for the reply, and sorry for not updating earlier, but I found the problem, which seemed to be my DNS and IP settings on the router. Turns out the inlaw was on a fixed IP and I had it set to variable, and also the DNS server. Internet worked etc and call set up worked, but just no audio until I set the ip to fixed and corresponding DNS names etc. Regard,s Eamon |

Hi
I know I got this before, but just cant find the way to do it now, and lost the bookmark to the page. What is the link to the page for the netgear WRG613VAL that will let me change the codec etc ? The only page options for VOIP I get on login is the status page, with no editable options. I have the L2 password, but just cant find the page to get to edit the voip settings. Thanks, Wexfordman |
