Smile Apple iPhone with O2

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum. I'm looking at buying an Apple iPhone (16GB 3GS) for business use to mostly get use out of VoIP calls when at home and abroad. I am entitled to an upgrade so the cost of the phone wont be too bad. Does anyone know if the O2 cellular network will support VoiP calls when out of wi-fi zone?

Can the iPhone be setup to primarily use wi-fi for VoiP and when out of wi-fi area switch to cellular for use of the VoiP( if possible) or to use the normal O2 mobile calls?

The current monthly data plan with O2 is 1GB for the iPhone on the Advance 175 plan.

Any advise would be greatful guys.

Thanks

Hi Jetavia

You can use Blueface in a variety of ways through your iPhone to save costs. The weephone is an application you can get through the app store and make calls with your Blueface sip account - http://www.blueface.ie/helpandadvice...on/iphone.aspx. Fring is also available on the iPhone as an app to use Blueface through - http://www.fring.com/download/iphone/.

When you do not have a wifi connection to connect to you would be using your data allowance with the iPhone. A more cost effective way to use Blueface through your iPhone is to use our Go Mobile service which allows you to access your Blueface account via your mobile phone. Then you would only be making a local call to the gateway number, which is included in your 175 minutes with the iPhone. For more information on any of these options please email our support team at support@blueface.ie and they will be happy to assist you.

Thanks

Kelly

If you Iphone is jailbroken you can download Voipover3g from Cydia, that way apps like Fring thinks that u r on a Wifi connection even that you are on 3g connection. I use it a few times and works great.
