Hi, I'm having diffuculty getting a SPA9000 working (using SPA942 phones). I went through the setup wizard but still cannot ring out. I'm using a trial blueface account. I though it might be my firewall (sonicwall TZ170, enhanced os), but the softphone works fine.
Has anyone had any experience setting one of these up? |

Hi aob- I had a go at these, but they are pretty difficult - I gave up in the end. Then I got an installation wizard which gets them set up easily I believe (haven't used it though). Its 13 MB, so I'll need to check where I can upload it so you can download it....

Thats the wizard I was using and although the phones are working internally, I can't get them to call out.

Hi AOB,
I unfortunately cannot offer you advice rather i was hoping you resolved your issues and you could advise me before purchase. I will have a small network of 3 pc's (1 server) and 2 VoIP phones. i was hoping to use the linksys SPA9000 PBX box just like you and use Blueface over digiweb DSL. did you get it working? do i still need to get the netgear router/firewall/ATA box that blueface suggest or would the linksys SPA9000 do, to manage my phones and internet traffic? did you go with another solution in the end? looking forward to your response, Will. |

I haven't got my problems resolved yet, still have to look into a few more things. I'll post back here when I know more.

Thanks.
I'll be looking forward to it. i might try and get an all linksys solution to have interoperability. for example: NETWORK SETUP: *************** 2 linksys SPA941 VoIP phones, 1 Linksys SPA9000 IP-based PBX, 1 PC, 1 server, 1 laptop, 1 Net printer. NETWORK CONNECTIVITY COMPONETS: ******************************* Linksys SR224 24-Port 10/100 Switch http://www.expansys.ie/product.asp?c...YS_SR224&tab=4 Linksys WRT54G Broadband Router http://www.expansys.ie/product.asp?code=WRT54G Linksys SPA9000 http://www.expansys.ie/product.asp?code=135302 Linksys SPA941 http://www.buy4now.ie/index.asp?s=1&...siness%20Phone I can't seem to find a linksys DSL modem or and Integrated linksys DSL modem and router/firewall. digiweb offer Zyxel modem which has 1 ethernet port and 1 usb port. http://www.zyxel.com/web/product_fam...E-7773E95FF97F I guess and router/firewall and integrated DSL modem can do. maybe netgear? i hope it would work with linksys hardware. NETWORK CONFIGURATION: ********************** so i guess the network set up with the switch idea would be as follows: digiweb DSL modem --> liksys router --> linksys switch --> computers and liksys SPA9000, Linksys SPA941 phones. then set up blueface on the SPA9000. the digiweb dsl modem might not be great, i never heard of that brand before. i wonder can i repace it with a better brand and just copy over the digiweb dsl settings. I don't have DSL at home so had never dealt with this before. i am trying to do this as a favour for Liz's sister. I'm not fully family yet and i've been roped in ;-) i could eliminate the router if i could get an all-in-one dsl modem and router/firewall. hence: digiweb DSL/router (linksys? but more than likely netgear all in one modem/switch/router/firewall) --> linksys switch --> computers and liksys SPA9000, Linksys SPA941 phones. You know my network can be simpler than my previous message.
you see digiweb won't provide support if i don't use there dsl Zyxel modem. my network will be as follows: Zyxel P-660HW modem/4 port router ---> Linksys 8-port switch ---> Linksys PBX, Linksys Phones and network computers. I would be delighted to hear of what kind of hardware solutions you used and how you resolved your PBX issues. I wish you a speedy resolution, Will. |

I resolved my dialing out issue, it was a dialing plan oversight on my part! The connection takes over 15 seconds to make, anyone got any ideas why it's this long?
My network is as follows: SonicWall TZW 170 -> Linksys SR2016 switch -> SPA9000 -> 3 x SPA942 phones I'm planning to upgrade the switch to a Linksys SRW224P to take advantage of QoS and the SPA942's ability to run off PoE. |
