Hi everyone,
We have a new service in beta testing for you to play with: It's a call conferencing application. https://www.blueface.ie/customers/co...onference.aspx (You can access on it on the small menu once you're logged in) If you want to try it, you will need to install a small plugin from Microsoft for your web browser: Silverlight. The first time you load the page, you will see a button asking you to install the plugin so it's strait forward. Once you have the plugin installed, you'll be able to see the page properly. Click on 'Create', you will be granted a Room number and a PIN number. You and the people you want will be able to dial 015242333 (geographic number accessible with any phone) or 3333 (Blueface extension for other blueface customers). Then you'll be asked to enter your room number and you PIN number. At that time you'll see animations on the page showing the people inside your conference and their details. You have the ability to kick or mute users if necessary. By default, 5 people are allowed in the conference. If you need more, you can add 'chairs' simply by clicking on the related button. Here is a small screenshot of what you have when the conference has just been created : ![]() If you have any feedback, issues of any kind, or simply if you like it, please, let us know by answering this post. Thanks

The interface is very neat and easy to use.
When I tried it out, I keep getting a message: "Please enter your conference number followed by the # key". Is something not working correctly or just my DTMF tones not getting through? I tried from several phones cordless and otherwise but could not get past the first message. |

Got it to work, finally. Seems the problem was caused by the ATA having both RTP and SIP-Info ticked on for sending DTMF tones.
Works fine when the RTP check box only is enabled. Nice work guys ! Really like it. |

Hi pablo,
We had one report of the same thing a day ago and we did make some changes to the way DTMF was getting passed through. I've made another little tweak now and would be grateful if you could let me know if you still have the same problem. If the problem does exist and you are calling from a Blueface line could you try dialling 306 to test your DTMF and see if you get the digits played back. Thanks, Aaron

Tested my DTMF tones by calling 306 from 2 different cordless phones, and both test fine.
I can get into the conference room with no problem now, as long as DTMF via RTP only is enabled. Muting and unmuting a participant seems to be unreliable (I'm using Firfox), and the browser occasionally crashes with the SilverLight application installed. Would it be possible to toggle the Mute button to UnMute when a participant is muted? Thanks |

Worked fine for me. However, pure pendantic point.
The system says: Please enter your conference number followed by the # key. Your diagram shows: "Room number" Could you change this to "Conference number" too. At least then it's consistent and may prevent any confusion. Good job |

The muting unreliability is not expected. We did a lot of work to make sure the requests would get through to the conferencing server. When you click the mute buttons was the interface updating but the attendee not getting the mute mesaage or was nothing happening at all? Rather than toggling the mute button to indicate mute state we changed the attendee icon. I think that is a better approach since it shows the status even if the specific user's menu is closed. Thanks for the feedback. Aaron

The muting worked. The muted participant is shown with a red X mark, and a muting announcement is played. However after doing a couple of times, I could not unmute the second time. Iwas using Firefox at the time. FF crashed after that. So it is probably just an interface bug. I was conferencing 2 phones within the same network. Not sure if that is an issue. I'll try it again, and with Explorer later on tonight.

Ok that does sound like a Silverlight issue and they are expected - the plugin is still in alpha. Browser crashes are also not uncommon with Silverlight apps at the moment, however the benefits are pretty compelling so we decided it was worth putting up with the quriks to see how useful the service is.
If the muted icon on the user was changing but the muting announcement was not being played that would be our code rather than the plugin. Regards, Aaron

I tested the Conferencing again using a Bluface account call and a PSTN call and it seemed to work quite well. Both IE and FF worked as intended without crashing.
Muting responded as would be expected. Yesterday I conferenced 2 calls originating from the a Bluface account and a Sipswitch account using the same Blueface account as outgoing provider, from the same public IP address. The application crashed when I was exercising the muting function (both in IE and FF). I think the fact that the calls originated from the same account caused the muting problems. Hope this helps. Thanks |
