Default AudioCodes MP-114 ATA

Hi folks,

Got an interesting SIP / call connection problem.

We're an IT consultancy firm and are dedicated users of Blueface ourselves.

Now, we've just taken one of our clients off another, ailing Irish VoIP provider, and moved them on to Blueface. (Yearly Business Plan)

Our client has an NEC PBX. Three PSTN channels lead from the PBX to the first three FXS sockets on an AudioCodes MP-114 ATA, thence to a Netgear RP614v4 broadband router. The broadband router is connected to an Irish Broadband wireless service. Being very familiar with the Blueface setup, I have reconfigured the ATA to work with the Blueface service.

Problem:
When someone makes a call on their office handset through the PBX to one of the VoIP channels, they do not get any audio back to their earpiece. They *DO* get dialtone from the ATA when they select the line, but once they dial, they cannot hear the ringing tone from the other end, nor the other party speaking when the other party answers the call.

From the point of view of the party receiving the call, everything seems to be working OK: They phone rings for them; when they pick it up they can hear the other person talking, but the person behind the PBX that initiated the call cannot hear anything.

If the roles are reversed and, for example, I call into the client's premises on one of the VoIP numbers, the problem is exactly the same: I can hear the person when they answer the call but they can't hear me.

In other words, regardless of who initiates the call, the person behind the PBX at the client's premises gets no audio.

I reckon I've misconfigured the ATA somehow. Or perhaps I'm missing out some NAtting on the broadband router. I've pasted the configuration file from the ATA below (and annotated it slightly for clarity.)

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Kind regards,

Michael.

Hi Michael,

Do you have an analogue telephone around you could plug into the ATA to try a call with the PBX out of the equation? That might narrow it down a bit.

Regards,

Aaron

Default Analogue Phone

Hi Aaron,

Yes, indeed. I'm going up there with an analogue handset this morning to try just that.

More info here later.

Regards,

Michael.
